I've been hard at work on cards for the upcoming Mother's Day holiday. It's actually one of my favorite holidays to create for. It allows me to be extra girly, play with soft color palettes, and vibrant spring colors. This year fuchsia and magnolias seem to be my color and design of choice. I've recently become addicted to Altenew Stamps and can't get enough of them. They are great outline stamps...which are excellent for coloring and personalizing.
Many of my cards here use the Magnolias For Her set from Altenew and sentiments from various sets from them as well. So let's get looking and hopefully you'll be inspired to start work on your Mother's Day cards!

This card was made using one of the magnolia stamps from the Magnolia For Her set and the sentiment from Freesia set, as well. I love the vibrant fuchsia from the cardstock that matches the magnolias. The flowers were embossed in gold (as well as the sentiment) and water colored using Dylusions ink in Funky Fuchsia. I love using this ink for water color. The colors are vibrant, fun and richly pigmented.
This one is one of my favorite designs..ever. I love the background, sentiment, and I can never have enough vellum! This one was stamped with the same magnolias and embossed in silver. The flowers were colored in using Dylusions Turquoise and the sentiment is from Altenew's set called Beautiful Lady. I also have this in fuchsia (which is my absolute favorite) shown below.
This is my absolute favorite. I must not be alone, because I cannot keep this one in stock. It sells faster than I can make them!
This is a good example of playing around with new colors and designs for Mother's Day. I love the subtle color and of course the vellum. Vellum makes me happy. The flowers are also part of the magnolia set and sentiment is once again, from the Beautiful Lady set.
This freesia card can be used for many occasion, not just Mother's Day. I try to keep as many as I can multi-purpose...a good tip to those of you who do craft shows or sell online. They will appeal to a larger base of people if they aren't specific to one holiday or type of shopper.
This beauty was made using the ranunculus set from W plus 9. I love this stamp, It's great for coloring and using alone or as a background as I've done here.
