It's a crazy week here in our house as we're preparing to go out of town for a family wedding. There's so much to do with a house full of boys! All of this scurrying around is hindering my plans to get something new up on here. So to (sort of) make up for it, I'm posting a card that I recently shared on the PBL Facebook page.
I was inspired by the denim heart tags that I found at the craft store and I fell in love with my vision for this card and put off all of my housework that afternoon. Smart? No. Worth it? Absolutely!
This card uses kraft cardstock, a thick, bohemian-style lace, gold embossing and a little bit of vellum and gold mirrored cardstock for the butterfly. There is also some thin jute twine and some cording that had a strand of gold running through it. This came as the string holding the tags together. I wish I could buy this separately because I love it! Rustic with just the right amount of bling! If I make more of this card (and how could I not?!), I will have to find something to replace the bling-ed cord. The spatters in the background are hard to tell by the picture, but they are actually metallic gold paint. I simply used a cheap metallic craft paint and watered it down with water until I had a consistancy that I could splatter on my card base.

I absolutely love this card and hope you all do too!
